Checking the log on a Sunday instead of the scale

I lift four days a week and track protein like it's a second job, so weigh-ins have never been my main signal. This morning I skipped the scale entirely and just read back through my training log for the last six weeks.

Bench went from 185x5 to 205x6 at the same bodyweight, and my waist is down about an inch and a quarter on the tape. Nothing dramatic, no whoosh, but the recomp is clearly happening.

What I like about this check-in style is that it can't lie to me the way a single morning weigh-in can. I had a salty dinner Friday, probably holding three pounds of water, and the scale would have made me moody for no reason.

The log and the tape are sloer but they don't flinch. Anyone else here mostly ignore the scale during a stretch and let the log do the talking?

Curious how you decide when the mirror and the numbers disagree.
