Two kids, one pantry, and a snack rule that survived soccer night

I’m not a meal-prep person. My dinners are 6pm chaos: one kid hates sauce, one only eats beige food, and I used to finish their plates while standing at the counter. Since starting this med, my appetite is quieter, but the after-school rush still makes my hands want to snack.

The only thing that’s helped is splitting the snack drawer. Top shelf: my stuff (cheese sticks, roasted almonds, turkey slices). Bottom: their crackers and fruit pouches.

If I’m actually hungry between school pickup and bth time, I grab from my shelf. If I’m just tired, I drink water and go fold laundry. It sounds stupidly simple, but it cut the mindless bites way down.

I still have nights where I hover over the goldfish. Progress, not perfect. What’s one tiny setup that made your chaotic mealtimes less of a free-for-all?
