Packing slip listed two, the foam held three

Packing slip said two. Foam insert held three. Same lot, same seal, no invoice line.

I logged the third as unassigned in my inventory sheet instead of folding it into current supply. My running count is 3 in rotation, 2 backup, 1 unknown.

I’m not trying to turn a shipping error into a windfall; I’m trying to keep my refill timing and expiration dates honest. If I count it now and it’s a mistake they later correct, I’ll have a gap I didn’t plan for.

If I ignore it, my spreadsheet lies. For people who track inventory closely: do you quarantine extras until the next refill, or adjust your count and move on?

What’s your reconciliation rule?
