The habits that survived my first ninety days

Hit day 90 yesterday, and honestly the number on the scale is the least interesting part. The real shift is that I stopped treating evenings like a second dinner. I used to graze while putting leftovers away, so now I pack lunch first, then brush my teeth right after I close the kitchen. Sounds silly, but it cut out a lot of mindless bites. I also keep a mug of herbal tea going after 8, mostly to give my hands something to do. My energy is steadier, and I’m not white-knuckling the whole evening anymore. Still have blah days, and I’m not perfect. For those further along: which small habit made the biggest difference for you, especially on low-appetite days when nothing sounds good?

Evening grazing was my main leak too. I set a hard kitchen-close alarm and pre-log any deliberate evening item before dinner. If it’s not plated and logged, it doesn’t go in. The first two weeks of tracking showed that window was ~200–300 kcal/day, almost none of it from actual hunger—just routine plus standing near food. Now I keep seltzer and a measured portion if I genuinely want something. It’s less willpower, more removing the ambush. What’s your kitchen-close time?

The toothbrush trick is genius—I might steal it for my leftover-grazing habit 😅

Solid. The teeth-brush is basically a friction cue. I added a 0–10 hunger score before opening the fridge after dinner; if it’s under 6, I make tea and leave the kitchen. I also pre-log tomorrow’s lunch before clearing the table, which closes the leftover-picking window earlier. My data showed most evening intake clustered 8:30–9:30 and wasn’t true hunger. Curious—does your teeth-brush hold on weekends, or is that when the old pattern sneaks back?
