Doctor mentioned a statin and my dorm budget got defensive

my provider brought up a statin at my last check-in and I did the thing where I nod like a well-adjusted adult while my brain whispers, “but that’s another subscription.” I’m a student living on dining-hall eggs, tuna packets, and whatever protein is on sale, so I already treat my current med like a line item next to laundry quarters. The odd part is I’ll happily spend an hour building a cheap-protein plate, but a tiny daily pill made me weirdly resistant.

I think it’s because one feels like progress I can see in my mood and meals, while the other is invisible homework. Not logical, just honest. Anyone else notice they have completely different emotional math for different prescriptions?

I’m not asking for medical advice, just wondering if the “peptide over pill” instict is common or if my dorm brain is just dramatic.
