Two kids, dinners in shifts, and somewhere around month five of my GLP-1 the shower drain started collecting way more than the bathroom floor ever does. I counted strands after one wash like a weirdo — around forty — and my ponytail felt thinner by maybe a third.
I fell into peptide threads for two nights, got overwhelmed, closed the tabs. What I actually changed was boring: pushed protein to roughly 100g most days, kept eggs and cottage cheese in the fridge door where I can grab them between school pickup and the second dinner shift, stopped tying my hair back wet, and quit the 1200-calorie days that were making me feel terrible anyway.
Also had iron and thyroid checked with my doctor.
Four months later the drain looks normal-ish again, and the new growth at my temples sticks up like a toddler cowlick. Not glamorous, but it's there.
Did anyone else's shedding settle on its own, or did it take more than food and time for you?
