Coffee went bitter and frozen peas taste sweet now

Black coffee has become a problem. I'm 31 pounds down since February, weigh daily, and the trend line is still creeping down, but my usual mug now tastes like burnt popcorn. Plain Greek yogurt tastes almost dessert-level sweet. Carbonation feels sharp and metallic, so seltzer is out. Spicy food is louder, and some chicken smells oddly strong. None of this is appetite exactly; it's more like my mouth got new firmware. I'm trying to treat it as noise: log it, shrug, move on. The scale and trend line don't care whether I enjoy coffee. Has anyone else had flavors flip on them? Did any go back to normal later?

Fellow dorm-dweller here. My cheap-protein pivot was canned tuna + rice + frozen peas, but if peas taste sweet now, it turns into weird dessert risotto, so I feel you. Coffee: cold brew over ice has been way less burnt-popcorn for me, and a tiny pinch of salt knocked the bitter edge down. Question: is it only reheated chicken that smells strong, or fresh-cooked too? I’m trying to figure out if my microwave is the villain or my nose suddenly got a PhD in rancidity. Tracking-wise, I log taste aversions in my notes app so I stop buying stuff I suddenly can’t stand.

Night shifts here. Coffee went burnt popcorn for me too around month 3. I switched to iced Americano with a tiny pinch of salt. Tolerable, not good. Frozen peas taste sweet to me now. I swapped in edamame and green beans. Carbonation still metallic, so I do plain water with cucumber. Sharp question: does your taste change after bad sleep? Mine is worse after a 12-hour night. I track it in a notes app: food, shift, taste. Sounds nerdy but shows patterns. Weigh daily too. Trend line matters more than one weird food day.
