I quit macro math and just log protein anchors now

Tbh i logged every bite for the first 11 weeks — grams, oils, the works. It was useful then because I had zero calibration. But somewhere around week 12, the app started shaping my day more than hunger did, and I’d get weirdly rigid about a 30-calorie gap while ignoring whether I’d had any protein. Now I keep a stripped-down note: protein at breakfast, a vegetable at two meals, and a palm-sized protein at dinner. If I’m stalled for more than a couple weeks, I’ll go back to weighing for a few days just to recalibrate. In the trials, appetite suppression does a lot of the heavy lifting, but it doesn’t automatically make food choices balanced. I’m curious whether anyone else found a middle path — enough tracking to stay honest, not so much that it runs the day?
