Quiet brain but no big lightbulb yet

I’m about three months into this and the strangest part is the lack of drama. I expected either a rush of “this is working!” or some dramatic emotional shift. Instead, my brain is just... less loud around food. I still plan meals, still pack my lunch the night before, still have a square of dark chocolate after dinner. But the old 9 p.m. cereal debate has softened, and I noticed yesterday that I walked past the breakroom donuts twice without running a whole negotiation in my head.

It’s almost too subtle to celebrate. My accountability brain wants a milestone, but maybe the quiet is the milestone? For those further along: did the mental quiet show up before the emotional “aha” for you? And what small habit helped you trust it rather than waiting to feel something bigger?

For what it's worth, hey, I’m about five months in and totally get the no-lightbulb thing. Mine was more like someone turned the radio down two notches. The 9 p.m. cereal urge was my nemesis too. What helped me actually see it: I made a note on my phone every night at 9—just “loud” or “quiet”—and by week three it was mostly quiet. Not magical, just data. I also switched my refill to our local pharmacy for a 90-day supply because insurance kept bouncing me around, and not thinking about it monthly helped my brain chill. Sharp question: is your quiet spot mostly after dinner, or are mornings different too? I’m curious if the cereal urge just relocated for you.
