Raisin Bran is my boring breakfast again

I regained about 20 of the 45 pounds I lost a couple years ago, and mornings are where I fall apart. For a long time breakfast was either nothing or whatever pastry was in the break room. Last week I grabbed a box of Raisin Bran because it was the only thing that sounded okay with my appetite. It’s not sexy, but one bowl with milk and a handful of walnuts has been weirdly steadying. I’m not white-knuckling until lunch, and I actually ate lunch instead of grazing all afternoon. It’s not a miracle, just a small boring thing that is working this week. I’m trying to let small wins count without turning them into a whole identity. What’s one unglamorous food that quietly made your days easier?

Raisin Bran is actually a decent base if you anchor it with protein/fat; the fiber is there but a lot of it is added sugar. In the trials, protein at breakfast seems to blunt later cravings, but for me the practical fix was weighing the cereal once. My “one bowl” was quietly 2.5 servings. Now it’s 1 serving + 150g nonfat Greek yogurt + 10g chopped walnuts. Same boring, way less 10am break-room pull. Sharp follow-up: what milk are you using? Skim vs higher-protein makes a surprising difference in how long it holds me.
