I’m in that phase where the kids are grown and I’m rebuilding my days around morning walks and actual cooking instead of grazing over the sink. The scale is moving faster than I expected—27 pounds since early March—and I’m happy, but by mid-afternoon I hit a wall. Not shaky, just a flat, quiet tiredness that makes me want to sit down and stare at the wall. My sleep is okay-ish, and I’m drinking water, so I don’t think it’s anything dramatic. I’m mostly wondering if this is just part of the adjustment while my body gets used to less food and more movement. For those who’ve been through the faster-loss stretch, did your energy come back once you settled into a rhythm? What helped most—timing meals differently, shifting walks, or just patience?
Weight is coming off but my afternoons feel dim

I’d track it instead of guessing. I log a 1–5 energy score at 2, 3, and 4 pm plus lunch, sleep hours, and whether I’ve had water/electrolytes. My n=1: the flat, non-shaky wall almost always lines up with a lunch under ~25g protein, low sodium after a sweaty morning walk, or short sleep—not the scale. Are you logging intake at all, or just weight? If you post a typical lunch, that’s the first place I’d look.
