Tbh met a friend for lunch yesterday — first time since I started this, roughly month four. Halfway through an ordinary bowl of pasta I got that soft done signal and just stopped. Not stuffed, not forcing it down, just finished. She looked at my bowl, then at me, and asked if I was feeling alright. She knows I've been quieter about food lately, and I think she's worried.
It caught me off guard, because I track a lot of small things — sleep, water, how my mornings feel, whether a hunger pang is real or just restlessness. Stopping at half a bowl honestly felt like a win worth noting. But I clearly didn't explain it well, and she's texted twice today to check in.
How do you handle it when someone reads a smaller appetite as something being wrong? I'd rather be open than mysterious, but I don't want every lunch to turn into a whole medical conversation.
