Four hours at the DMV, one calm scale week

I had my license renewal at the DMV on Tuesday, the kind of appointment where you bring a book because the queue is a rumor. I packed a turkey roll-up and a water bottle, mostly because I know vending-machine hunger is not real hunger for me anymore. By the time I got home I was wiped, ate dinner later than usual, and the next morning my scale was up 1.4 pounds. Old me would have spiraled. Instead I checked my 7-day average: down 0.2 from last week, same slope I have had for six weeks. The wait was boring; the data was boring; that is the win. Anybody else have those errand days where the non-scale part of the routine just quietly holds the line?
