Fourteen months past goal, and the scale stopped being interesting

I got to my goal weight in the spring of last year. The part nobody warned me about is how uneventful the after is. My weekly average has stayed inside a six-pound band for fourteen months now, and I still log it every Sunday, mostly out of habit rather than worry.

What actually holds the line for me is unglamorous: protein at breakfast, a walk before dinner, and roughly the same three lunches in rotation. Nothing I'd put on a poster.

Somewhere around month four of maintenance the number quit being the main character, and that felt like the real milestone more than the goal weight did.

Old photos still catch me off guard sometimes, but not in a painful way. More like flipping past a former roommate. I don't feel like I beat that person and I don't feel like I am them either. Just a quieter continuation.

For those of you past the first year of maintenance, did the head part settle before the body part or after?
