I'm eight months in and down 34 lb, which I'm happy about. Twice in the last month I've gotten a dull right-side ache plus a little nausea a couple hours after a heavier dinner (once pizza, once a cream-sauce pasta). No fever, no jaundice, no vomiting. I saw my NP; ultrasound showed some gallbladder sludge but no stones. She said watch and follow up if it changes, which feels reasonable but vague.
I'm not asking anyone here to diagnose me. I am curious, though: for those who've had gallbladder stuff during weight loss, what symptoms made you push for more evaluation? Did anyone get a HIDA scan or a repeat ultrasound? Did your clinician tie it to how fast the weight came off, or to specific foods? Also, if you found any solid patient-facing explainers or studies on rapid weight loss and gallbladder sludge, I'd read them. I'd rather go into my next appointment with better questions than doom-Googling at midnight.
