I’m not a spreadsheet person, but I built a tiny dorm-protein cost sheet after realizing I was making the same sad choice between a $2 yogurt and whatever was lurking in the communal fridge. Columns: food, protein grams, total price, servings, cost per 20g protein, and a brutally honest “would I actually eat this again” 1–5.
My current champion is plain Greek yogurt plus frozen berries: roughly 92 cents per 20g protein, and it doesn’t require negotiating with a hot plate. It’s one tab on my phone, no fancy app, updated when I shop.
It’s stopped me from buying three “high-protein” cookies that cost more than an actual meal and tasted like a cardboard apology. Curious whether anyone else tracks cost per protein or if I’m just a nerd with a grocery receipt.
