My log predicted a 0.9 lb week and it actually happened

Six weeks ago I started doing something annoyingly simple: every Sunday I write down the 7-day mean, subtract last week's mean, and that single number is the only one I care about. The daily readings are weather.

This morning the mean sat at 163.4, which is 5.6 below where I started the little experiment, and the week-over-week delta came out to 0.9 โ€” almost exactly the average of the previous four weeks. I won't pretend that felt like a triumph. It felt like arithmetic behaving itself.

Here's my mildly contrarian take: the apps push streaks and badges, and two columns (mean, weekly delta) have done more for me than all of them combined. Steps went from roughly 6,100 to 8,400 a day over the same stretch, and I genuinely can't tell whether that's moving anything or whether the quieter appetite is just doing the work while my shoes take credit.

Anyone else tracking a weekly delta instead of the day-to-day number, or am I just assigning myself extra homework?
