My mom keeps shrinking and I don’t know how to ask

I’m 41, lost 38 lbs a couple years ago, regained 20 after my dad’s stroke, and I’m six weeks back to logging and lifting three days a week. My issue is my mom. She’s 76 and has dropped a lot without trying. At Sunday lunch she ate three bites of chicken and kept folding her napkin.

Her rings spin on her fingers now. I want to say something, but I’m scared she’ll hear it as me pushing my own weight stuff onto her, especially since I’m the one counting protein and going to the gym. I also know I’m not a doctor and this isn’t my call.

For anyone who’s had a parent lose weight unintentionally: how did you start the conversation without making it a fight? I don’t want to preach. I just want her to know I see it.
