Two Decembers ago I started stepping on the scale before coffee — same spot, same order, glasses on, cat trying to sit on my foot. Back then every tenth of a pound felt like a verdict. I'm down about 96 pounds since, and the ritual hasn't changed; my reaction to it has.
This month my rolling 14-day average moved 0.3 pounds. Individual mornings swung almost three. Older me would have spun a whole story out of the high day. Now I write the number down, look at the line, and go make eggs. The line is the thing. The dots are just one morning.
The shift happened when I started treating each weigh-in as one data point instead of a report card. Same with the small stuff — a salty dinner, a rough night of sleep, a week where I hit two walks instead of four. None of it bends the direction unless I let it change what I do next.
Curious how the other daily weighers here handle noisy stretches. Do you log and move on, or skip the scale for a few days when it starts feeling personal?
