the scale moved but my head is still buffering

i'm down 126 since last spring. late night gamer here, so most of my old calories were soda and whatever i could eat with one hand between matches. did the swap experiments: diet soda made me bloated, sparkling water was fine for a month, now it's cold brew and a weird amount of plain seltzer. the physical stuff i expected. what i didn't expect is this exposed feeling. not sad exactly, more like the weight was a buffer and now every interaction hits closer to the skin. old friends treat me different. my ranked duo says i'm no fun because i don't order the same junk at 1am. i also get this dumb guilt when i catch myself missing being invisible. anyone else have the mental lag where your body is ahead of your personality? i still default to the fat guy jokes and then feel like a fraud.

okay but you stopped mid-sentence at "what i didn't expect is" โ€” that's the actual post, finish it.

Mine was that I just moved the counting. Went from 3 sodas a night to a seltzer every match, and caught myself tallying cans with the same brain that used to tally calories. Started putting it in the same note as my weigh-ins, mostly out of curiosity: 5-6 cans, 16oz cold brew before noon, and the scale parks itself whenever the cold brew creeps up past that. Might be water, might be nothing, but the data's there.

So what was the thing you didn't expect?
