I always assumed I was just a night snacker. Started logging not only what I ate but when, plus hunger 1–10, sleep, protein, and stress. The pattern was embarrassingly obvious: about 85% of my cravings hit between 9:15 and 10:30pm, almost only on days I skipped lunch or landed under 100g protein. Not a moral failure — an upstream input problem. So I added a boring 4pm protein anchor and moved my caffeine cutoff to noon. Nighttime urge dropped from nightly to maybe once a week. Still strange to realize my discipline was mostly logistics wearing a costume. Anyone else find their “weakness” is really just a missing variable?
