been ordering from overseas for a while because the price per kit was like 40% less and i told myself i was being smart about it. two orders landed in 9 days, one sat in customs for almost a month, and the fourth one just... didn't. got a letter. that was the part i wasn't budgeting for.
meanwhile my friend ordered domestic and had it in her hands in like 4 days, flat rate shipping, no customs window, no wondering.
the math is annoying though. domestic runs me roughly 1.5x and i'm on a tight budget already since i'm buying sparkling water to replace the two liter a night habit (down to one can after 11pm now, small win).
so basically i'm paying a convenience tax to not spend my night between queues refreshing a tracking page.
curious what tipped it for you guys — did you switch to domestic and stay, or do you still gamble on the slow boat when the price is right?
