How do you handle a weigh-in that doesn't match your effort?

I weigh most mornings because the weekly average helps me, but some days the number feels almost random. Tuesday I was up 1.8 pounds after a salty dinner and a rough night of sleep. My waist measurement was the same, my resting heart rate was up 4, and I knew I had walked less the day before. Still, that little jump stung. I drank water, did a slow 20-minute walk, logged it, and tried not to change anything drastic. Wednesday it was back down. I’m 18 weeks in and down 22 pounds, so logically I trust the trend, but emotionally those odd mornings still wobble me. I’m curious what helps other people stay calm when the scale doesn’t match the effort you put in. Do you wait a day, check other signals, or just ignore it and move on?
