The quiet progress I notice is carrying things without a plan

I’ve been around here since 2022, and I’m way less dramatic about progress than I used to be. Three years and about 58 lbs down, the changes that stick out are the boring ones: standing through a full meeting without shifting foot to foot, carrying two gallons of water from the garage without setting them down halfway, eating half a takeout burrito and putting the rest away without white-knuckling it. Last week my partner asked why I was grinning in the kitchen. I’d just realized I wasn’t negotiating with myself about a second helping. Nothing cinematic. Just less noise. For the long-timers, which quiet change surprised you more than the scale?
