Every few months a version of this thread rolls through, and I get why. I’ve been here about three years now, and I still remember waiting for some obvious switch to flip. For me it never did. Around month four I could still eat a normal dinner, so I figured I was one of the people it just didn’t hit.

What actually changed was almost too boring to notice: I stopped finishing my coffee, then started leaving the last third of a sandwich. Our weekly grocery total drifted from about $140 to $95 without me trying.

My partner noticed before I did, because I wasn’t making a second pot in the afternoon. No choir, no lightning bolt.
