Night shift guy here, anyone else side-eyeing the peptide hype?

Been at this 14 months. Down 61 lbs. I work 7pm to 7am, so my eating window is a mess and my sleep is worse.

Every few weeks someone at work swears the new miracle peptide is why they dropped a pant size. Then they go quiet. Same with the HGH talk. I read up on it for a while, closed the tab. Cost, sides, and the schedule hassle for a night shifter? No thanks.

What actually moved numbers for me: protein first, 30 minute walk after shift, blackout curtains, water instead of gas station energy drinks. Boring stuff. Two jean sizes down since March.

Not calling anyone a liar. Just noticing the loudest hype comes from people who've been at it six weeks. The ones who stick around don't talk about it at all.

Anyone else seeing that?

Hi, I’m brand new here—only week one—so I’m mostly reading and taking notes. Your night shift schedule sounds brutal. Something I started doing, just for myself: I log when I sleep, my first and last bite, and a 1–10 hunger score in my notes app

hi OP—I’m new enough that I’m still figuring out the search bar, so forgive me if this is obvious. Night shift for me was a sleep problem dressed up as a hunger problem. I wrote down three things: hours slept, when I ate, and hunger 1–10 at 2am. The “starving” shifts lined up with 5-hour sleep way more than anything else. That made the peptide hype way easier to ignore. Do you track sleep and appetite together, or just food? 61 lbs on nights is seriously impressive.

night shift plateau club here. What finally gave me usable data was switching my food log to a noon-to-noon “shift day” instead of midnight-to-midnight. Otherwise my Tuesday dinner and Wednesday 3am snack looked like two separate days and I couldn’t see the real weekly total. I also weigh after sleep, not before, so it’s at least consistent. Still stuck-ish, but at least I know it’s not mystery peptide magic. Curious: do you track weekly averages or just daily? That’s the only metric that keeps me sane on nights.
