Daily walks or dumbbells: which one changed your day-to-day?

Three years here, and I've watched this debate cycle through a dozen threads. For me, they did different jobs.

Eight thousand steps most days was the easiest habit to keep; it helped my mood and made my after-dinner hour less sluggish. But two 20-minute dumbbell circuits a week are what made daily stuff feel easier—carrying the vacuum up the stairs, hauling the compost bin, that kind of thing.

If I had to pick one for body composition, I'd keep the lifting and walk for sanity. Curious how it shook out for the rest of you: did you notice one affecting energy, measurements, or general capability more than the other?
