Small vent, maybe a question. I'm 14 weeks in, down 22 lbs (5'6", started at 194, sitting around 172 now). I lift three mornings a week and walk the dog two miles most evenings. Nothing heroic.
But lately I catch myself doing weird stuff. Adding an extra set after someone at work says "you must be on that shot." Posting a sweaty gym mirror photo to prove I'm not taking the easy route. Which is silly. In the trials, the weight loss mostly tracks back to appetite and how fast the stomach empties; the lifting is just to hang onto muscle while I lose. I know that. And I still want to look tough about it.
Honestly my habits barely changed. Same protein shake, same chicken and rice, same single coffee. The only real difference is I'm not white-knuckling dinner anymore, and that's it.
Does anyone else get that urge to overperform when people make comments? Or have you figured out how to just let it roll off?
