Dropped 38 lbs a couple years back, felt incredible, then let most of it come home with me. I'm back on track now and the appetite noise is quieter this round โ but so is everything else. That's the part I wasn't ready for. My old hobbies just read as tasks. I opened my guitar case Thursday, stared into it, closed it again.
Weirdest part: food isn't even what I miss. I miss wanting things. Last week I bought a little wind-up robot at the grocery checkout and it made me laugh for maybe four seconds, and those four seconds counted as a real win. I've also been walking a different block each evening just to gawk at other people's porches. Low bar, but it keeps me out of my own head.
So I'm slowly collecting tiny, stupid, low-effort stuff that still registers as fun. What's on your list? Not the big meaningful-life stuff โ the small and silly stuff that still lands when everything feels beige.
