I hit my goal almost two years ago and mostly think in monthly averages now. The weirdest thing I’ve kept from my losing phase is how a specific habit just evaporated. I used to make six mugs of sweet tea a day, with the last one around 9 p.m. while watching TV. Somewhere along the way that nightly ritual lost its pull. I still like tea—one cup after breakfast, maybe—but it isn’t a background hum anymore. I didn’t white-knuckle it or swap in a fake version. The craving simply got quieter, and I noticed months later that the kettle had gone cold. Maintenance has taught me that the big number is only part of the story; these little autopilot loops changing is the part I trust more. Did any one specific habit fade for you instead of appetite in general?
