Two kids, 6 and 9, and 4:30–6 is a hostage situation. I’m about seven months on my prescription and down 63 lb, but the only thing that changed my evenings was moving the kids’ snacks out of my reach.
I put a basket in the pantry for them and a separate bin in the fridge for me: boiled eggs, grapes, cucumber, and plain Greek yogurt. If I’m standing in the kitchen at 5:45, I grab from my bin instead of theirs. Not perfect.
Some nights I still eat a handful of goldfish. But dinner isn’t a scavenger hunt anymore.
